Breidy, CLIP graduate. Current Queens College student completing her Bachelors degree to become an ENL teacher and give back to her community.

"For students like myself that English is not our first language [college] becomes a difficult decision to make because of all the struggles that we may have, but that's where the mentoring and guidance part comes in... I think having a program like CLIP, the process of having the guidance, the scholarships and CLIP- it was a great experience! In CLIP, I stayed for two semesters, however, that varies between students because they have different needs. But back in CLIP, I learned so much. It opened the doors that I needed to succeed in college. I think that if I didn't get to go to CLIP, my college experience would have been so much different and difficult because CLIP helped me build the skills that I needed to start the journey- How to communicate, how to write an essay, were parts of the things that professors in CLIP taught me. I think that those are a must in college."
