Dreamers College Foundation
Purpose
Every year, thousands of immigrant students seek a better future in our schools. They are faced with much adversity, from learning English to graduation and beyond. Studies suggest that it takes at least 7 years to learn a new language. When students enter our schools at a later age (late entrant English Language Learners), they are forced to learn English in less than the necessary time. This makes college success a difficult task. Our foundation has been created to help graduating English Language Learners attain a college degree. Our purpose is to provide scholarships and mentoring to send 3-5 students per year to the CUNY Language Immersion Program (CLIP) and support them as they complete their Associates and/or Bachelors degrees. Through the one-year CLIP program, students are prepared to bridge language gaps necessary to thrive in college.
Mission
Our mission is to provide support through scholarships and mentoring to first-generation immigrant college students as they bridge the gap of language acquisition and attain a post-secondary education.
Vision
Our vision is that ELLs' have the tools and support necessary to successfully attain a college degree.
Donate
The cost to send one student to the CUNY Language Immersion Program (CLIP) for 1 year is $435. Through this scholarship students will receive funding and mentoring as they bridge the gap of language acquisition and post-secondary education.
Anything above our goal, will be saved to help students who do not qualify for FAFSA complete their college degrees.
Thank you for your cooperation, it is life changing for our students!
